HP replies, stating that there’s no Android phone coming up

Replying to our claims on HP’s upcoming Android Smartphone, aka the rumoured HP BRAVE 657A, the PR Agency for HP in Singapore has clarified and told us in an email that “it is not an HP phone. The photo is a fabrication and is not a photo of anything HP has in the works.  Someone is making stuff up.”

This means that an Android phone from HP will probably not reach the market as soon as we thought or may not even be in the works at all. However, this also means that someone is trying to create attention with the AnTuTu benchmark results. I believe if it was really a HP prototype smartphone, they would have at least capitalized both characters in “HP”, which was not the case in the benchmark screenshot.

Well, there’s no HP Android smartphone out there folks… We’ve just probably took the words from HP’s Senior Director of Consume BU too serious when she was asked if a smartphone is in the offing. She said: “The answer is yes but I cannot give a timetable. It would be silly if we say no. HP has to be in the game.“
