HP’s announcement at CES 2024 might not be the most eye-catching but they have put up some nice implementations for the new products that are going to come out this year which will make fellow fans’ lives better.
We’ll first take a look at the new Spectre x360 2-in-1 Laptop PC of 2024. Featuring the two classic sizes of 14-inch and 16-inch, they are equipped with the new Intel Core Ultra 5 processors with built-in NPU to accelerate all sorts of AI workloads alongside an up to 2.8K OLED display for sharp, vibrant colors which also translates to movie-perfect standards thanks to the IMAX Enhanced certification. Refresh rate-wise, it is variable with up to 120Hz.
One can also opt for an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU for more individual power for some light gaming and general acceleration on productivity apps. The AI craze doesn’t stop here as the 9MP webcam can adjust itself dynamically in low light situations in addition to walk-away locks + wake-on-approach + privacy alerts together with smart power management towards the screen, processors, and fan speed.
They also come with special Poly audio tuning whose expertise in industrial-class audio equipment will help make online conferences sound better. Additionally, the webcam can launch Windows Studio effects that include automatic framing, background blur, and eye contact adjustment.
We also see a variety of new peripherals such as the new Poly Voyager Free 20 TWS equipped with hybrid ANC for intelligent ambient noise filtering to keep your “on-the-go” calls as clean as possible and the same thing applies to the microphones too.
The TWS is capable of powering through your day with up to 8 hours per full charge with another 2.5 times provided by the case. Also, remember to use the Poly Lens companion app to get the best ear tip size recommendation.
As for the split ergonomic keyboard, the HP 960 Ergonomic Wireless Keyboard provides the user with 20 reprogrammable keys and a separate NumPad for comfy typing without sacrificing connectivity options in the form of Bluetooth and a dongle.
If that’s not your cup of tea, there’s the new HP 690 Rechargeable Wireless Mouse with Qi Charge compatibility, the HP 430 Programmable Wireless Keypad which uses mechanical switches, the HP USB-C Travel Hub G3 with multiple ports, and the HP 400 Backlit Wired Keyboard.
The display portfolio sees the addition of the Series 5 monitors as well with size options of 24/27/32 inches, they offer a 100Hz refresh rate and 1500:1 contrast ratio while staying thin and light for a sleek look that will definitely fit most offices.
As for their gaming division OMEN, the new Transcend 14 offers a top-of-the-line gaming experience in a smaller form factor that consists of up to Intel Core Ultra 9 185H + NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU to go with an IMAX Certified 2.8K OLED display with VRR.
The system is supported by a robust cooling solution utilizing an optimized airflow channel that improves upon the vapor chamber capable of delivering 4x higher static pressure with 80W thermal capability within a 12mm base.
The gaming peripheral department HyperX also had a bit of handiwork here since they tuned the audio system for the best balance between different categories of games.
On the other hand, the classics Transcend 16 and Victus 16 have also been refreshed to carry better screens of up to 2.5K 240Hz OLED option alongside stuff like 14th Gen Intel Core CPUs.
Speaking of HyperX, they are also releasing new gear including the new HyperX Cloud Mini Headsets tailored for the younger audiences of growing gamers in the household that basically carry all the great points of the standard Cloud models just in a smaller size.
The mini-trend continues with the Clutch Tanto Mini Wired Controller that can be used with Xbox Series X|S, PC, Steam Deck, and Android. Its main advantage comes from its lightweight and overall smaller gap between buttons for easier grip and access.
Other notable new items include the Alloy Rise Keyboard with pre-lubed switches + high-quality PBT keycaps, Pulsefire Haste 2 Mini which is a wireless gaming mouse that is smaller in size yet consistently accurate, and the Knight/Delta Gaming Backpacks offering yet another choice for travelling gamers to pack all their stuff in a single bag.
Last but not least, desktop gamers will find the new OMEN Transcend 32 UHD 240Hz OLED Gaming Monitor fitting for their end game rig. As the name suggests, it is a 4K OLED display capable of providing a 240Hz refresh rate and 0.3ms response time but that’s all because the USB-C port on the back can deliver up to 140W of USB PD power to any compatible devices.
It is also VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified for greater dynamic range together with a 1.5M:1 contrast ratio with the entire package rounded up by the OMEN Tempest Monitor Cooling Technology addressing burn-in concerns for superior longevity.
