GIGABYTE has announced the AORUS RTX 5090 AI Box, the world’s first liquid-cooled external graphics solution powered by NVIDIA’s flagship GeForce RTX 5090 GPU.
The cream-of-the-crop Blackwell GPU is paired with the Thunderbolt 5 protocol to deliver near-desktop-class performance to ultra-slim laptops while providing 100W of charging power through a single connection.
Aside from delivering top-tier gaming performance through the mighty 32GB VRAM capacity, creators can also use it to accelerate RTX-supported workflows in applications such as video editing, rendering, and design, enhanced by NVIDIA Studio drivers.
Thermal performance is handled by Gigabyte’s AORUS WATERFORCE all-in-one cooling system, which incorporates a large copper baseplate, 240mm radiator, dual fans, and optimized pump design. The solution covers all major components, including the GPU, VRAM, and MOSFETs, balancing stability, performance, and low-noise operation.
With Thunderbolt 5 bandwidth reaching up to 80Gbps and PCIe Gen4x4 support at 64Gbps, the AI Box offers ample throughput for high-end workloads. It also expands a laptop’s capabilities into a workstation environment, providing connectivity for monitors, peripherals, and wired networks.
