Sony Singapore has officially announced the MDR-M1 Reference Closed Monitor Headphones, crafted specifically for music creators and sound engineers who want to produce audio exactly as intended without approaching the 4-figure and 5-figure high-end premium segment.
The MDR-M1 highlights itself through its finely tuned acoustic structure that’s designed to handle a wide range of music production tasks, while also offering high-resolution audio. The driver unit inside the headphones are custom made, capable of supporting ultra-wideband playback from 5Hz to 80kHz while pumping deep rich lows with no distortion.
The closed acoustic design also minimizes outside noise and prevents sound leakage while a tuned port known as Beat Response Control, manages low frequencies like a vent would by optimizing the diaphragm for better bass accuracy and a more controlled low-end response.
As for user comfort, the thick, low-resilience ear pads provides snug yet tight fit while the lightweight design ensures it can be worn for a long time without excessive stress. Aside from being compatible with theSony 360 Virtual Mixing Environment (360VME), it also comes with 2 cables – one detachable high-quality stereo mini-plug cable with an adapter, and a shorter cable for when you need a more compact setup.
