According to Gizmodo, in 2014, Samsung will be introducing a Smart TV with finger motion sensor.
Although Kinect full-body 3D motion capture has been around for years, many companies has started developing their motion technology earlier. Samsung would be introducing a motion technology superior in the sensitivity of fingertips movement.
Compared to the less defined Smart Touch Control feature in Samsung Smart TV launched this year, the Smart TV in 2014 is expected to be controlled by the motion of a single finger. With a wave of a finger, you can alter the progress of a video. Other than motion sensor, the voice recognition technology can allow users to change channels or launch an app.
This may not be a quantum leap for the development of motion or voice recognition technology. However, it is definitely a progress towards higher applicability and convenience in the future.
