Samsung has just rolled out the Galaxy Watch8 and Watch8 Classic, and this time, the focus is sharper than ever on merging wellness with comfort and style.
The design now follows the cushion form factor first introduced in the Galaxy Watch Ultra, but this generation is significantly slimmer, which is about 11% thinner, thus making it the most comfortable Galaxy Watch to date. Thanks to its reworked internal layout and a Dynamic Lug system, the watch not only sits better on your wrist but also improves health-tracking accuracy during wear.
For better visibility, the panel is now a brighter 3,000-nit display, paired with a new 3nm processor for faster and more power-efficient performance. Dual-frequency GPS ensures pinpoint accuracy outdoors, and a beefed-up battery is there to match active lifestyles. Samsung is also doubling down on its health-first push with a next-gen BioActive Sensor, offering more in-depth health monitoring than ever before.
If sleep’s a priority, this new series might win you over because, for the first time, the Galaxy Watch8 can detect moderate to severe signs of sleep apnea, a feature that’s also rolling out in Singapore. Tools like Bedtime Guidance tap into your circadian rhythm to suggest optimal sleep times, while Vascular Load gives insights into stress levels during rest. The new Antioxidant Index, a first in any smartwatch, helps users track carotenoid levels if you’re into that sort of thing.
For fitness enthusiasts, Samsung has added an AI-powered Energy Score to gauge your physical and mental energy levels each day. There’s also a personalized Running Coach that evaluates your performance and guides your training based on a scale of 1 to 10. The revamped Together feature now lets users challenge friends in running competitions, gamifying fitness to keep things fun. If stress becomes a hurdle, the watch offers a High Stress Alert and built-in mindfulness tracking to guide users back to balance through breathing and mood logs.
Design-wise, the Galaxy Watch8 leans minimalist and is available in 40mm and 44mm options in Graphite or Silver, ideal for everyday wear. Meanwhile, the Watch8 Classic, available in 46mm Black or White, brings back the fan-favorite rotating bezel and adds a dedicated shortcut button for quick controls. Both support a range of interchangeable bands for different lifestyles.
For adventure seekers, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is also getting an update. The 2025 edition bumps storage from 32GB to 64GB and introduces a new Titanium Blue color in Singapore.
With pre-orders already open through the links below and general availability beginning 1 August 2025, the Galaxy Watch8 series looks like Samsung’s most holistic approach to wearable health tech yet.
