Following the rest of the world, Samsung Singapore has unveiled more information on the new Z series foldables – Namely the Z Fold7, Z Flip7, and Z Flip7 FE.
The big highlight of this year’s offering is the superior thinness and lightweight build of the Z Fold7 at just 215g and 8.9mm, yet the screen has been upgraded once again, this time carrying an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2XD panel that is 11% bigger than last offerings.
And as expected, they elevated the durability and toughness of the entire thing through the new Armor FlexHinge for more “unfoldings”, Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 for general protection, and the titanium-reinforced main screen makes the Fold7 feel as rugged as it is refined.
Aside from powering the device with the best Qualcomm SoC, they also ported the “Ultra” experience from the S series lineup, which is a 200MP wide-angle lens, backed by Samsung ProVisual Engine and 10-bit HDR support.
For more pocket-sized style point, the new Z Flip7 continues the tried-and-true formula but it bumps the fun factor up a notch with the edge-to-edge FlexWindow at 4.1-inch that finally covers the entire outer facing side of the device, and that means more screen estate to display stuff as well as better visual clarity without unfolding the device.
The 13.7mm folded design and 188g body is just the classic, while the 50MP main shooter with upgraded Nightography and Real-Time Filters lets users capture high-quality content without even unfolding the phone. You can even zoom in or out on the FlexWindow with a new Zoom Slider and use Dual Preview for collaborative selfies, which are practical and fun.
Now maybe you dont’ fancy the “full screen Flip” design, or maybe you dont wanna splurge that much on a smartphone, then check out the Z Flip7 FE that’s kind of “reusing” the last gen design but Samsung made sure they are up to standards with high durability, full access to the usual Galaxy AI suite, a nice set of camera, the dedicated Flex Mode line of features and functions – all at a much more affordable price tag.
Galaxy AI for Everyday Use
The Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 will come with Android 16-powered Samsung One UI 8 out of the box with a specially tuned experience, where the former offers a Drag & Drop option for AI-generated content, Floating Results View, and Drawing Assist just to name a few, while the latter can utilize Galaxy AI to personalize your cover screen with custom widgets, emojis, and even a clock that wraps around your wallpaper’s objects.
Also, Gemini Live now supports voice-activated tasks, real-time screen sharing, and contextual queries in addition to working seamlessly with Samsung apps like Notes, where users can save Gemini-produced outputs right into the notepad app.
Price and Availability
Preorders are now open for all 3 devices, while the general launch will be from August 1 onwards. For Z Fold7 and Z Flip7, users will receive a 6-month Google AI Pro and 2TB Cloud Storage bonus for free.
