Sources stated that after major reorganization in the company, Microsoft’s Executive Vice President of Operating Systems Terry Myerson is coming out with a strategy on the eventual release date for the next major update to Windows 8. They plan to release Windows 8.2 only in Spring 2015, but of course this is still subjected to change.
Terry Myerson also hinted that they are also working on closer integration of both Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. They are working on making apps on both OS to be cross compatible.
Other than smaller updates to the OS between now and the release of Windows 8.2, Microsoft could also be rolling out some significant updates. More news will be available from Spring 2014 onwards when we will also be able to see a “smaller” Windows 8 tablet as well as Windows Phone 8.1
