In order to promote the new G2 smartphone, LG held multiple promotional public events in various places in South Korea. Last friday, the public had gone wild for the free G2 smartphone vouchers, leading to more than 20 people getting injured. LG has then cancelled all following events.
The activity held at the event called “G in the Cloud” requires the players to use any methods to catch balloons which are released by the staff. In which, 100 of these balloons will contain a free G2 smartphone redemption voucher. This event was held to promote the recently launched G2 smartphone.
According to South Korean news, there were people using air guns and spears. The uncontrolled event has thus led to the injury of more than 20 participants. Sources also said that LG will be bearing the full medical costs of these injured participants.
