LG has unveiled its new UltraGear GX9 series gaming monitors ahead of CES 2025, featuring cutting-edge displays designed to enhance gaming and productivity experiences. Highlighting the lineup are two models, the 45GX990A and 45GX950A, both 45-inch monitors with a 21:9 aspect ratio and ultra-wide 5K2K resolution (5,120 x 2,160). These monitors provide a superior gaming experience and ample screen space for tasks like video editing and multitasking.
The LG UltraGear 45GX990A stands out as the world’s first bendable OLED gaming monitor. This innovative display allows users to adjust the curvature from flat to a 900R curve in seconds, providing unmatched flexibility for immersive gaming. With an ultra-fast 0.03ms (GtG) response time, the monitor delivers smooth and responsive visuals. While the refresh rate details are yet to be confirmed, this model represents a significant step forward in display technology.
FoFor those who prefer a traditional setup, the GX9 45GX950A offers an 800R curved display with comparable specs to its bendable counterpart. It features a 125 PPI pixel density and an RGWB subpixel layout, enhancing text readability and making it suitable for both gaming and productivity. Connectivity options include DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C with 90W power delivery, ensuring compatibility with the latest hardware. Certified by NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, the monitor reduces screen tearing for a seamless gaming experience.
Both models leverage LG’s second-generation Dual-Mode technology, offering eight preset configurations for aspect ratios (21:9 or 16:9) and screen sizes (39-, 34-, or 27-inches). This allows users to customize their displays for different gaming genres, such as FPS, RPG, MOBA, and racing simulators. Equipped with LG’s latest WOLED technology, these monitors deliver vibrant colors, true blacks, and reduced blue light emissions for a more comfortable viewing experience. Additionally, the Anti-Glare & Low Reflection (AGLR) coating minimizes glare, ensuring excellent visibility in well-lit environments.
Rounding out the lineup is the LG UltraGear 39GX90SA, a 39-inch curved OLED monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio and 800R curvature. Powered by LG’s webOS platform, this model doubles as an entertainment hub, enabling access to streaming services without a PC. With USB-C connectivity and an ergonomic L-shaped stand, it combines convenience with a sleek, space-saving design, making it ideal for both gaming and content streaming.
