Aside from the new Galaxy Z series smartphones, the Galaxy Watch family also welcomes a couple of new models which are the Watch7 and Watch Ultra.
For starters, the Watch7 sticks to the bread and butter formula of 2 sizes – 40mm and 44mm – and both with 20mm straps. The software is familiar as well with ECG, blood pressure, and heart rate sensing like the last generation.
Yet, they have made some adjustments in terms of accessibility. For example, the double-pinch gesture is now highlighted and enabled by default. While the usual lots of Sports Mode are still here, there’s a new Workout Routine that acts as a personal trainer of sort by providing you with more parameters and goals-based results.
Under the hood, it is powered by the Exynos W1000 SoC and it is made using the 3nm process so the battery life is expected to be better as well as smoother performance in general.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Ultra is the interesting one that tries to fill that market gap of premium-class smartwatches. Adopting a 47mm rounded square design instead of a full circle, it is made with titanium grade 4 material for super tough durability with 10 ATM water pressure operability plus IP68 rating.
Sure, not all buyers of this are working dangerous jobs like divers but hey, at least they know it will work for those people.
With 3 buttons on the side, the middle one that traditionally occupies the crown position can be pressed to activate SOS mode for actual emergencies.
As for wearing the thing, Samsung made an entirely new latch-based strap called the Dynamic Lug system for extended wear comfort and durability. Its battery is now 590mAh with up to 100 hours of uptime in power-saving and 48 hours in exercise mode.
Since it is created with outdoor enthusiasts in mind, some watch faces are tailored specifically for “Night Mode” which means better visibility at places with low light sources.
