be quiet!’s Dark Rock series saw the Dark Rock Elite and Pro 5 CPU air coolers made for the hardcore user base about 8 months ago but now, standard and budget users can enjoy the more accessible Dark Rock 5.
The previously mentioned models feature dual-tower designs for maximum heat dissipation, but not everyone has an ATX or E-ATX PC case so the Dark Rock 5 will be pretty neat with its single-tower form factor that still offers excellent cooling performance.
The fifth iteration’s biggest improvement is due to six heat pipes connected to an asymmetrical heat sink for efficient heat removal. The Silent Wings 4 120mm PWM fan ensures optimal air pressure and low noise. For additional cooling, you can attach another Silent Wings 4 120mm PWM fan on the other side if you feel like it.
be quiet! has also revamped the mounting system with a pre-fixed mounting bridge and screws for easy installation. The magnetic mesh top cover allows quick access and conceals the heat pipes while the nickel-based heat plate is compatible with liquid metal thermal grease to minimize cooling bottlenecks.
Price and Availability
The be quiet! Dark Rock 5, backed by a three-year warranty, will be available starting June 25 for $69.90 in the US, €69.90 in the EU, and £64.99 in the UK.
