Renowned for its PC cooling solutions, German brand be quiet! is stepping into the gaming peripheral space with the launch of two mechanical keyboards: the Dark Mount and Light Mount.
The Dark Mount stands out with a detachable Numpad design, allowing users to convert it into a tenkeyless (TKL) layout for a more compact setup. Interestingly, the Numpad can be placed on either side of the keyboard, catering to left-handed users as well.
A notable feature includes eight programmable keys, each with a small display capable of showing custom 140x140 images. These can be used for shortcuts, macros, or launching apps. Users needing more controls can turn to the included Media Dock. The keyboard also features a split palm rest with a magnetic riser offering three angle adjustments, a metal top plate, and ARGB backlighting beneath transparent doubleshot PBT keycaps, designed for durability and resistance to oil stains.
Meanwhile, the Light Mount opts for a more conventional full-size layout but brings its own highlights. It features a precision-machined aluminum 3D media wheel, offering tactile control over volume, mute, and customizable functions. This is paired with five macro keys on the left, per-key ARGB lighting, a top LED light bar, and dual underglow strips. It also includes a modular magnetic palm rest and fold-out feet for ergonomic adjustment.
Shared Features
Both models are equipped with be quiet!’s proprietary Orange Linear and Black Tactile switches. These are factory-lubricated, hot-swappable, and supported by layers of foam and dampening materials to deliver a thocky, creamy sound profile. Users can manage profiles and customization through the IO Center software or a web-based interface.
