Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) will be holding the annual ‘PlayStation®Awards 2018’ (PS Awards) in Tokyo, Japan, on 3rdDecember 2018 to announce and acknowledge the biggest PlayStation® hits in Japan and Asia over the past year.
The PS Awards have been held every year since the inception of PlayStation in 1994, with this year marking the 24th event. To honour all the creators and their work over the past year, we will be awarding ‘Gold Prizes’ to all titles which have achieved over 500,000 total units shipped and downloaded in the Japan and Asia region. Similarly, ‘Platinum Prizes’ will be awarded to titles which achieved over 1 million units in total.
In addition, we will also be giving the ‘PlayStation™ Network Award’ to the top 3 selling network titles in Japan and Asia and the ‘Users’ Choice Award’ to the top 10 titles as voted by users. For PlayStation®VR titles, the ‘PS VR Award’ will be given to the 3 titles which contributed the most to sales and excitement surrounding the format. Finally, the ‘Indies & Developer Award’ will be presented to the 3 titles which contributed the most to the amazing variety in the PlayStation® title line-up.
Voting is now open for the ‘Users’ Choice Award’. We will be giving away a PlayStation®4 Pro and PlayStation®VR with a PlayStation®Camera to one user who leaves the best comment with their vote for the ‘Users’ Choice Award’ this year.
You can vote on the ‘Users’ Choice Award’ section on the PS Awards 2018 official site’s Voting Page (available from today), please make sure to check it out and vote. The deadline for votes will be on 8th October 2018, 22:59 GMT+8.
