Many were disappointed when they realized that the AMD Ryzen Threadripper did not support NVMe SSD RAID features when it first came out. After listening to feedback, AMD has decided to further improve on the X399 platform and have just announced NVMe SSD RAID capabilities for it!
Who needs outrageous VROC keys? Threadripper users have their NVMe SSD devices directly connected to the CPU and have accelerated RAID performance on the CPU!
The beta release of the support of bootable NVMe RAID is now available via the latest AMD RAIDXpert2 package. The BIOS for the AMD X299 based motherboard has to be updated as well.
