D-Link Covr-3902 The Covr Wi-Fi System

2017 – D-Link,one
of the world’s biggest suppliers of home networking products, launches a new whole-home Wi-Fi solution, the
Covr Wi-Fi System (Covr-3902). D-Link Covr-3902 comes with
a AC2600 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi Router (COVR 2600R)and AC1300 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi
Range Extender (COVR 1300E). The Covr Wi-Fi system is a simple,
intelligent solution that uses a high-performance router and extender to create
a single seamless network with ultra-fast speeds and reliable connectivity, to
even the farthest reaches of a home.

While other mesh network solutions rely on
multiple access points, D-Link’s Covr Wi-Fi System uses a premium router as the
backbone of the wireless network. The router provides the advanced features and
speed needed to power bandwidth intensive activities like 4K streaming and
gaming on multiple devices. Combined with seamless extenders to cover hard to
reach areas, Covr delivers a Wi-Fi signal to all areas of the home including
upstairs, basements and backyards.

The main unit, COVR 2600R, is the fully
featured AC2600 dual-band MU-MIMO router. This is a quad-stream (4×4) router
that has a top speed on the 5GHz band of 1,733Mbps and on the 2.4GHz up to
800Mbps. COVR 2600R also comes with 4 gigabit LAN and WAN port and a web
interface with a full set of features.

The satellite unit, COVR 1300E, is the AC1300
Gigabit Wi-Fi extender. This is a 2×2 device with up to 867Mbps on the 5GHz
band and 400Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. It also has two Gigabit LAN ports. This
unit automatically replicates the Wi-Fi setting of the router unit. As a
system, it offers seamless hands-off, meaning clients like phones and laptops
can automatically switch between the main router and the extender units without
any interruption, something you generally can’t achieve by using a standalone
router with another standalone extender.

The Covr Wi-Fi System focuses its Wi-Fi signal
on connected devices for faster speed. You can also add more satellite units to
increase the coverage area. As more devices are added to Covr’s network, its
intuitive features take away the complexity of managing a home wireless
network. Smart Steering technology works to balance the load between the 2.4
and 5GHz wireless bands. Covr intelligently prioritizes activities and steers
devices between bands as more devices connect, making sure each device has
optimal performance. Covr, unlike a traditional router-extender solution,
creates a seamless network with a single network name (SSID) which allows users
to move throughout the home while devices automatically connect to the
strongest signal, eliminating the need to disconnect and reconnect. Additional
Seamless Extenders (COVR 1300E) can be added to expand coverage in larger homes.

The Covr-3902 the Covr Wi-Fi System will be available in September at authorized
retailers, resellers and distribution partners.
