BIOSTAR has announced the launch of the EdgeComp MS-J6412, the latest industrial PC (IPC) in its EdgeComp lineup, aimed at edge computing and industrial automation use cases.
Built around Intel’s Elkhart Lake J6412 SoC with clock speeds up to 2.6GHz and a 10W TDP,, the new system is designed to deliver reliable performance with ultra-low power consumption and silent operation via a fanless embedded system. With round-the-clock stability in mind, BIOSTAR is targeting applications like smart factories, industrial human-machine interfaces (HMI), kiosks, and broader IoT deployments.
Key features include dual M.2 expansion slots with one Key-M for NVMe or SATA storage and another Key-B with SIM card support for 4G/5G connectivity. Meanwhile, a Mini-PCIe slot offers further expansion for Wi-Fi or Bluetooth modules, while dual 4K display support positions the system for advanced visual interfaces.
On the other hand, 4X COM ports enable broad compatibility with legacy and modern industrial equipment, and dual 2.5GbE LAN ports facilitate high-throughput, low-latency networking essential for real-time control and monitoring.
With this release, BIOSTAR continues to expand its footprint in the edge computing space, appealing to system integrators and automation professionals seeking dependable, energy-efficient IPCs for mission-critical environments.
