I wouldn’t say that GPUs announced during this year would get this but there’s a very high chance you’ll see Micron GDDR7 in products starting next year.
The GDDR7 is currently in the sampling phase for partners and interested manufacturers to acquire a batch and test their quality, marketed performance, and general feasibility for their products. Built using Micron’s 1β (1-beta) DRAM technology, GDDR7 delivers 32 Gb/s high-performance memory in a power-optimized design with over 1.5 TB/s of system bandwidth too.
With improved throughput by up to 33% and reduced response time by up to 20% for generative AI workloads, gamers can also expect 30% FPS improvement for ray tracing and rasterization across 1080p, 1440, and 4K resolutions. So no matter you’re running gen-AI programs or just playing your favorite games, the next-generation GPUs are going to be much more powerful and efficient in running them.
Micron also says the Advanced reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS) features enhance dependability and data integrity which is always nice to have.
