TrendForce’s latest market research report for total SSD shipment is out and to no one’s surprise, Kingston is the best yet again.
Hogging a 28% market share, that percentage is derived from the total 114 million units shipped across the entire market. With the entire supply and demand dynamics shifted from 2021 to 2022, the trend is still headed toward a decline which is 10.7% YOY.
The global economy of 2023 has also affected how module makers manage inventory, particularly in the way they price their offerings. Combined with the immense advantage of PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs getting extremely close to the older PCIe 3.0 products while beating SATA-based drives like no tomorrow, TrendForce also predicted the continuous phase out of slow storage products while faster and value-packed products climb in recognition and shipping volume.
For Kingston, their achievement in 2022 is done through the major contribution of the NV2 client NVMe SSD with more than 12 million units sold while the high-end FURY Renegade family of storage products champions in aesthetics and performance for the enthuasist tier.
