AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 was officially out of the box last week and seems like they are doing what they are supposed to do (Although partially).
If you’re one to test out the feature yourself, here are a couple of screenshots for Forspoken and Immortals of Aveum on how to turn on the feature, and be sure to check Frame Generation is ON too.
Both options you see in the aforementioned titles are the key updates brought by FSR 3 including Frame Generation powered by a jacked-up, enhanced version of AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) and temporal game data for higher frame rates on top of the new ‘Native AA’ mode providing better image quality and frame rate boost to go with.
Designed to make gameplay from 1080p up to 4K smoother and more responsive without immense raw processing requirements, as usual nothing is “Team Red” exclusive as NVIDIA users (especially those who can’t afford the latest ones) can utilize the feature too.
Citing official benchmark results, one can say that the performance boost is quite significant from the borderline “playable” state to the buttery smooth sensation benefiting high refresh rate displays.
On the other hand, for the very first time, AMD also shared latency data publicly since they claimed FSR 3 also included latency optimization among many other things so here are some numbers to take in.
Aside from the now-available Forspoken and Immortals of Aveum, 2 new games will be joining the family soon, namely EVE Online and Pax Dei.
To get everything prepared, be sure to update your GPU driver Software: Adrenalin Edition for AMD card users right now over here.
