A couple of months ago we saw AMD’s introduction to the Radeon PRO W7900 and W7800 workstation GPUs and now we are seeing the mid-tier models coming in.
Skipping the “7700”, the new models are W7600 and W7500. They both work exactly like their flagship class brothers in terms of features albeit at a much downscaled power and performance level with a matching price tag that is more “affordable”.
Both of them carry only 8GB of VRAM which is kind of in the “bare minimum” zone but if it is adequate for you then it’s fine. Compute Unit (CUs) wise, the W7600 houses 32 of them while the W7500 does so at 28.
What differentiates them from a larger scale is the boost clock coming at 2.43GHz for the W7600 and only 1.7GHz for the W7500 instead. As a result, the TDP number sits at 130W and 70W respectively.
In any case, both of them are powered by the RDNA3 architecture with dedicated AI acceleration alongside the well-known Radiance Display Engine, not to mention the number of certified programs and professional support you get from them.
Availability
The AMD Radeon PRO W7600 and AMD Radeon PRO W7500 come with an RRP of USD599 and USD429, acquirable in Q3 of this year with OEM and SI brands offering them later this year.
