Since the MWC 2014, no products equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor has been launched. So far, flagship phones like Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2, have been equipped with Snapdragon 801 chipsets.
The Snapdragon 805 was launched in CES 2014.
According to Sources, the Pantech Vega Iron 2 will be the first to be packed with the new Snapdragon 805 chipset. The smartphone will possess 5.5″1920 x 1080 resolution display, 2 GB RAM, 32/ 64 GB ROM, 13 MP camera, 2800 mAh battery and supports USB 3.0 and LTE-A networks.
Reportedly, 4 models, M-A910S, M-A910K, M-A910L and M-A910D, will be launched, of which M-A910D will be available outside Korea. However, due to network band restrictions, it may not be available in many countries.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 will be using Krait 450 quad-core structure, allowing it to be the first to clock up to 2.5 GHz for individual cores. In addition, it can provide up to 2.56 GB/s memory bandwidth to cater to wider multimedia performance and network browsing speed.
Pantech is the third largest smartphone manufacturer and both Samsung and LG took part in the shares of the company.
