Sources state that the next version of Google Nexus, the Nexus 6, is expected to launch in the second half of 2014, as a light version of LG G3.
In November last year, Google launched the Nexus 5. The successor of the Nexus series is expected to be introduced later this year. Although there are leaks that suggest the smartphone will be manufactured by Lenovo, Gizmodo.de denied such a possibility.
Recent leaks suggest that the Nexus 6 will be equipped with a 2560 x 1440 resolution display, 64-bit processor and a 16 MP camera.
Previously, Russian leaks Eldar Murtazin expressed that the Nexus series will cease in 2015 and be replaced by Play Edition original Android devices. If that is true, Nexus 6 will be the last of the Nexus series.
Recent launches of Play Edition smartphones, also known as Google Experience devices, includes HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z Ultra and LG Pad 8.3. The user interface of such devices is similar to other Android phone, but utilises the open-source original Android OS from Google and will be able to receive the latest updates.
