According to TNW, the independent design and developer Jolla unveils that Sailfish Operating System will be available on Android devices, thus gaining popularity.
When interviewed by the website Talouselama, the CEO Tomi Pienimaki states that by developing both the hardware and the OS, Sailfish can be easily installed on Android devices. In China, more than half of the smartphone users will upgrade their outdated and cheap devices to a newer Android OS, and this is the driving force for developing Sailfish OS on Android devices.
Based in Finland, Jolla develops the work from the original team from Nokia on the project MeeGo. Jolla features a Finnish design of its phones, with no front facing buttons, its OS’s live multitasking ability and the user friendly interface that seamlessly adjusts to the user’s needs.
