Microsoft released a news statement on 14th October, launching the new Windows Phone 8 GDR3 update. Although the changes to the operating system were not as huge as the ones from Windows Phone 7 to Windows Phone 7.5, but thankfully, Microsoft has finally made their mobile operating system to be compatible with 1080p resolution displays and the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad core CPU.
This time, the new OS has also included a “Driving Mode” which allows all notifications to be shown on the screen to prevent distractions of drivers when using the phone. There are also more accessibility options for users with poor eyesight, enabling them to use the phone more easily.
Additionally, GDR3 allows network sharing via bluetooth. Different notification alert tones can also be customized now. According to sources, there are hundreds of changes to the updated OS. It is expected to be rolled out in a few weeks time.
