Previously, CEO of Microsoft Steve Ballmer has admitted that Microsoft had manufactured too many Surface RT tablets and that they overestimated the demand for them. Microsoft is estimated to have about 6 million Surface RT tablets unsold. It seems that they are doing a lot to sell these tablets to consumers. In Singapore, we are seeing educational prices that sells these tablets at less than 200SGD. Microsoft is also offering classrooms free Surface RT tablets with ad-free Bing for Schools. Of course, we will be seeing more of these campaigns to help them reduce the number of Surface RT in their inventory.
Since they have so many Surface RTs, they decided to take 88 of them to make a huge ass digital piano while playing “Everything at Once” by Lenka. Each Surface RT tablet plays a single note by touching on them. The funny thing is that they probably only used less than 20 of these tablets playing that song. Well, that’s what you have to do when you got #tooManySurfaceRT .
