Many people have been looking forward to Office for iPhone. Office 365 is finally in the App Store, but only to Office 365 subscribers.
Rumours on Microsoft Office for iPhone have been speculated for quite some time now. It is only until now that the official apps are out for the iPhone on App Store. However, there is only a version for iPhone, but not iPad. Unfortunately, the App name “Office Mobile for Office 365 subscribers” already tells us that this download is only applicable for Microsoft Office 365 subscribers.
Office Mobile for Office 365 subscribers app for the iPhone allows users to view and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. Users can also create an new Word and Excel document directly on the iPhone.
Office Mobile for Office 365 subscribers can access data stored on SkyDrive, SkyDrive Pro and SharePoint. This means that files are truly shared between different platforms and recently updated files will come out at the top of the recently updated list, making it for users to continue editing a document.
iOS is the second Mobile Operating System that Microsoft has targeted to bring their Office line of products to, where of course, Windows Phone devices already have built in Office capabilities. It is very likely that Microsoft will soon launch an iPad version. After all, it has been seen as a trend for people top give up laptops and only work with Apple tablet devices.
