A few hours ago, Sony released a new video, teasing the coming of next generation PlayStation consoles which will be announced on the 20th later in the month. Wall Street Journal reports confirmed that PS4 will indeed be announced on the date and that Sony will throw in more social gaming aspects to the PS4, putting their focus on how people will interact with the console. This probably means that Sony will wow gamers with their new gaming technology by the way they interface with the machine to play their games. Augmented reality? Gesture based interactions like the Kinect? We are really not sure now, and look forward to 20th February when the official announcements come.
The announcement date was previously rumoured to be at E3, together with the next generation Microsoft Xbox console. Sony probably saw an advantage if they released and announced their console earlier to attract gamers first. If not, they probably know that our exams ends on 20th February.
