Bosch and Alibaba have announced an expanded strategic partnership aimed at driving digital transformation through advanced cloud computing, AI integration, and global e-commerce initiatives. The collaboration builds on years of cooperation between the two companies and is set to strengthen Bosch’s digital operations while broadening its market reach.
According to Bosch Chief Digital Officer Dr. Tanja Rückert, the partnership allows the company to combine Alibaba’s AI capabilities and global e-commerce platforms with Bosch’s expertise in mobility, industrial technology, and consumer goods. Alibaba Chairman Joe Tsai emphasized that the agreement reflects the company’s commitment to empowering global businesses with advanced cloud and AI services, while leveraging Bosch’s leadership in automotive and household technologies.
The expanded cooperation will see Bosch migrate parts of its corporate operations, home appliances, and commercial vehicle businesses to Alibaba Cloud, while also evaluating Qwen-based multimodal AI models for enhancing smart cockpits and exploring next-generation automated driving systems.
On the e-commerce front, Bosch plans to launch new product categories in China in 2025 using consumer insights from Alibaba’s platforms, while extending its footprint to Southeast Asia, Spain, and Latin America via Lazada, Miravia, and AliExpress. Bosch first partnered with Alibaba in 2017 on Tmall, where it has since built a strong presence across home appliances, power tools, heating systems, and automotive aftermarket parts.
The move highlights a broader industry trend of multinational companies increasingly relying on cloud-driven AI solutions and regional e-commerce ecosystems to accelerate global growth and customer engagement.
