Kingston has announced they are once again your “king” of DRAM by securing 1st place in Trend Force’s 2023 leaderboard for “Top 3rd party DRAM module supplier” chart.
With an estimated 68.8% market share, they got to sit on its number-one position for the 21st consecutive year, despite a slight revenue decrease amidst an industry-wide 28% YoY decline in DRAM module sales.
According to the report, the top ten memory module companies accounted for 93% of global sales in 2023, with Kingston holding its significant 68.8% share. The decline in sales was largely attributed to an inventory correction phase in consumer electronics after the pandemic, compounded by high production rates among DRAM suppliers, which drove down prices.
However, the market showed signs of recovery in the latter half of 2023. While consumer demand for electronics softened post-pandemic, Kingston’s expansive brand presence and comprehensive regional reach helped limit the impact, allowing it to retain its leading market share.
In 2023, it further expanded its offerings with the FURY Renegade Pro DDR5 RDIMM, designed for creators, engineers, and data science professionals requiring overclockable server-grade DDR5 memory. Additionally, Kingston’s Server Premier DDR5 DIMMs (64GB, 32GB, and 16GB at 4800MT/s) were validated for the 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable Processors.
Kingston also refreshed its Kingston FURY Renegade DDR4 memory with a bold new two-toned heat spreader design and celebrated shipping over 100 million overclockable modules earlier in the year.
