On the 29th July, Microsoft officially launched their newest Windows 10 operating System. Since then, they have been rolling out the free updates to previous Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users. According to Microsoft, within 24 hours of the launch, 14 million devices have already been updated to Windows 10. The number is said to grow up to 67 million. Windows 10 is known to be the Operating System with the fastest adoption rate.
WinBeta later got some information from an employee from Microsoft, stating that the 67 million figure refers to the number of devices that are currently in queue to be updated to Windows 10. As for now, Windows 10 have reached more than 25 million installs on devices and possibly have already passed the 27 million mark.
It seems that 27 million is a huge number, but it is still far from Microsoft’s plan to have 1 billion devices running on Windows 10 in the next 3 years. It is believed that as the free upgrade propagates, Microsoft will sooner or later reach their target.
