Five easy ways to make Earth Day last through the year
Earth Day is merely a gentle reminder for us to conserve our resources for our future generations.
Rather than just going Green for one day, do more for our Earth with these five tips:
1. Switch off your gadgets when not in use
Many of us own wireless gadgets – such as the Logitech Wireless All-in-One Keyboard TK820
and the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Folio – for use on the go or to reduce clutter.
Remember to switch off your devices if it’s not in use so that your battery can last longer on
a single charge.
2. Consider devices which use renewable energy (e.g. solar energy)
More and more devices harness solar energy which can also be charged using indoor lights
(e.g. Logitech’s Wireless Solar Keyboard K750). It’s definitely a more earth-friendly way to
work.
3. Use energy efficient devices
When choosing a product, do take time to think what you’ll be using it for and take into
account its energy efficiency. For example, the Logitech G602 Wireless Gaming Mouse offers
250 hours of battery life on a single charge (or 1440 hours in endurance mode) or the
Logitech M705 Marathon Mouse that runs up to three years with just one set of batteries!
4. Go paperless through the use of mobile applications and cloud storage
Save paper and reduce wastage by utilising mobile applications and cloud storage devices to
manage your information. These are designed to consolidate all your data while allowing for
easy retrieval of information; great when you’re travelling about since there’s a lot less to
carry around.
5. Reduce, reuse and recycle!
Use refillable items – pens, water bottles or even detergent – to reduce wastage. There are
also many local recycling initiatives out there, supported by the National Environment
Agency where you can recycle electronic items such as computer mice, keyboards, laptops,
mobile phones etc.
