According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple and its suppliers are testing a larger dimensions variants of iPhone and iPad. According to sources, Apple is testing a 13-inch screen for the iPad and 4 inch screen for the iPhone.
Previously, South Korean based ET News also reported that Apple may be testing out a 12.9-inch iPad, which is consistent with the latest news from WSJ. Reuters also reported last month that Apple is coming up with a 4.7 inch and 5.7 inch iPhone.
We are still currently unclear if these devices will go into mass production, but it has been said that Apple will test a large number of prototypes before official production. WSJ claims that the market can expect a new generation of Retina iPads for this year with a resolution of 2048 x 1536. Apple will also use in-cell technology to make the new iPad thinner and lighter. Additionally, Apple will also introduce a budget version of the iPhone 5S this year.
