From the video, it seems that the back shell design of budget iPhone is very similar to iPhone 3GS’s. Also, the edges and sides of the budget iPhone looks like a fifth-generation iPod. However, this new device is presumably thicker than iPhone 5. However, the overall look of the device lacks a premium feel to it, but the use of polycarbonate material for its back cover can improve the sturdiness of this new iOS smartphone.
As more high-end smartphones joins the saturating market, Apple has seen an opportunity for their devices and smartphone platform in emerging markets. The launch of low-cost version of the iPhone should be able to provide considerable market share for Apple in the mainstream market. Meanwhile, Apple’s iPod sales are not doing very well. The budget iPhone should be able to make up the loss of revenue with the declining sales of their products.
