A collaboration between HTC and Facebook has resulted in the new launch of HTC First, a social mobile phone for users who are always on Facebook. However, due to the fact that Facebook cannot be accessed within China, Chinese users have been missing out on a lot of new devices launched outside their market. Luckily, HTC has made up for the lack of HTC First in China. It seems that a new model will be launched in China really soon. Known as HTC 606w, this new phone has just appeared in the website of the Ministry of Industry Certification in China. It seems like a HTC First without Facebook Home and is the actual previous leaked and rumoured HTC M4.
HTC 606w has similar specifications as compared to HTC First. It has a 4.3inch 1280 x 720 screen (342ppi). It will be pumped with a 1.2GHz dual core processor (Probably Snapdragon 400 series), 2GB of RAM and an internal 16GB storage, slightly different to HTC First. It has a front 1.6MP camera and a back camera which uses the UltraPixel technology found on the HTC One. It has a 1700 mAh battery capacity and will be running on Android 4.1.2 OS with HTC’s Sense 5 interface.
Additionally, the designs between HTC First and 606w has a slight difference. As seen on the image above, 606w has a small blue border on the front of the phone, which is not found on the First. The rounded Facebook Home HOME button is also replaced with HTC’s logo.
