GIGABYTE has announced a couple of new DIY PC parts for AI computing – Introducing the TRX50 AI TOP under the main brand and the AORUS Gen5 14000 SSD.
Designed for superior AI computing, the TRX50 AI TOP motherboard is the go-to selection when it comes to up to 236B-parameter LLM because it can match the performance of the rest of the hardware at best.
For starters, the four PCIe 5.0 x16 slots can take in dual-slot GPUs at four with no bandwidth restriction while the PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot also at four, provides the fastest pathway for moving data around in addition to storing files.
The octa-channel ECC R DIMM slots enable robust system memory of up to 2TB with reliability while the 2x 10GbE + WiFi 7 are practically the best consumer/prosumer connectivity options right now.
It also has several “nice to have” things like the EZ-Debug Zone featuring LEDs and control buttons for easy troubleshooting process while the WIFI EZ-Plug design consolidates the antenna into a single adapter, saving space and the hassle to screw. Also, enjoy various EZ-Latch mechanisms and UC BIOS for streamlined system building.
As for the SSD, the Gen5 14000 SSD is blessed with the Phison PS5026-E26 12nm process controller and highly optimized 232-layer 3D-TLC NAND Flash that delivers 14,500 MBps and 12,700 MBps read and write speed. It is further enabled by the DDR4 DRAM cache design, which pushes its limit against the PCIe 5.0 protocol.
It also comes with DirectStorage support for enhanced game loading times alongside AES-256 encryption, TRIM, SMART, and ECC technology in addition to SSD monitoring activated within GIGABYTE’s GCC application. The brand also recommends the usage of M.2 heatsinks that come with various high-end boards such as X670E AORUS PRO X, Z790 AORUS MASTER X, etc.
