CRKD is happy to announce the beginning of shipment for the long-awaited Nitro Deck that promises to make the Nintendo Switch again despite the Japanese themselves doesn’t seem to care much.
A product created by the guys over at Embracer Freemode, Nitro Deck offers users an improved experience for the Switch by simply sliding the screen (which is also the main device) into the Nitro Deck and enjoying things like Hall-Effect Sensor-based analog sticks for that never-drifting movement which is especially important for input and frame-conscious competitive gamers.
Users can also get their own set of Thumbstick Toppers with different textures and designs for visual and technical preferences so that each Nitro Deck will be unique to the owner.
And yes, the accessory hooks up via USB-C for the best latency but leaves out an extra one for input charging and output for external control plus the set of 4 back buttons with remappability for other simple or complex commands like Turbo or macros.
If you want, you may also gain access to CRKD content through the companion app for iOS and Android that shows the Nitro Deck’s product number and rarity rank, offering another layer of “collectibles”-like mini-game for the hobbyist in addition to the CRKD TV.
Availability
The Nitro Deck comes in several colors including the Limited-Edition Nostalgia Retro Purple, Retro Mint, and Classic Grey, and comes with a premium Carry Case (with extra game storage), a 2.5-meter USB-C Charging Cable, and an additional set of Thumbstick Toppers.
Meanwhile, standard editions come in Black, White, and Grey.
NA residents may get them starting right now while UK/EU folks will see shipments starting to go towards the continent starting next week.
