Seagate has officially launched the new FireCuda 540 SSD for Singapore which you can take one home starting today.
The FireCuda 540 will be replacing the 530 as the new performance king since it is running PCIe 5.0 protocol instead of PCIe 4.0.
Therefore, the speeds can easily achieve the 10GBps reads and writes at maximum when moving single large files thanks to the Phison E26 controller, validated by Seagate themselves. Sustained speeds-wise, it can do well over 50% more than PCIe 4.0 drives too.
Take a look at the design and yep, it is completely identical to the 530 with the black/orange/white colorway.
Supporting backward compatibility, one may buy this and use it right off the bat albeit at slower speeds than advertised then upgrade to the latest motherboards for the full potential.
Durability is also a key factor here as Seagate rates it at 1.8M Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and up to 2PB Total Bytes Written (TBW) endurance, equal to about 1TB writes every single day for 5 years straight.
Compatible with DirectStorage for super fast loading speeds in games and productivity applications, the drive also comes with a 3-year Rescue Data Recovery Service plan and a 5-year limited warranty.
