Together with the launch of the new GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti graphics cards from NVIDIA, Palit, an exclusive board partner, has followed up with their announcement of the release of these new graphics cards.
The new GeForce RTX 3080Ti graphics card performs between the RTX 3090 and RTX 3080, while the RTX 3070 Ti comes between the RTX 3070 and RTX 3080.

In terms of key difference between the new cards, we saw an significant increase of the CUDA core count of the RTX 3080 Ti as compared to the RTX 3080. The RTX 3080 Ti features 10240 CUDA cores, while the RTX 3080 only has 8704. Generally speaking, the RTX 3080Ti is more like a smaller brother of the RTX 3090 instead of a upgraded RTX 3080.
Also, we took note that the RTX 3080 Ti has got half the amount of VRAM as compared to the RTX 3090. As the RTX 3090 is made for gaming on big format and ultra high resolution displays, it is usually an overkill for most gamers. The RTX 3080 Ti is now specifically catered for the gamers who uses a more sensible setup, such as gaming on 4K, and is now more affordable at $1,199.
Palit RTX 3080 Ti will be equipped with 12GB of GDDR6X VRAM. The RTX 3070 Ti on the other hand has a total of 8GB GDDR6X VRAM.
Palit will be introducing the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GameRock and RTX 3070 Ti GamingPro under the original branding. Its sub-brand, Gainward, will be having the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Phoenix and RTX 3070 Ti Phoenix.
It’s good to see that there are more options available in terms of new Ampere based graphics card for the consumers. Consumers can now make better choices, selecting a graphics card that will be more catered towards their usage. However, let’s just hope that the supply of these products improves to meet the demands of the consumers.
