In Amazon Germany’s website, a new Zenbook model is shown. Specifications stated that the new ASUS Zenbook will come with a whooping 2880 x 1620 resolution IPS display and has a SKU-Code of UX51VZ-DB115H.
The 15.6″ Zenbook is powered by an Intel Core i7-3632QM processor clocked at 2.2GHz, comes with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a 512GB storage capacity provided by 2 x 256GB SSD in RAID 0 configuration. It will also have a discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT650M graphics chip to make sure that applications will run adequately on the huge resolution display.
This new Zenbook will be the first Intel certified ultrabook device that reaches this high resolution with the WQHD+,16:9, 2880 x 1620 display. Toshiba KIRAbook only has a 2560 x 1440 resolution but on a 13.3″ screen. MacBook Pro Retina display still has the highest resolution of 2880 x 1800 (16:10)
If these specifications for the UX51VZ are true, this resolution will be higher than all current Zenbook models and we will be expecting even more of such high-resolution notebook and Ultrabooks to be showcased at Computex this June.
The UX51VZ is equipped with Windows 8 operating system and is shown to be sold at 1999 euros, equivalent to around 3,200SGD. This product will probably we well out of reach from the average consumer due to its price tag.
