With Windows 8 Tablet devices gaining its popularity, there has been an increase in number of Windows 8 enabled tablet devices in the market. Of course, at IT SHOW 2013, there are various tablet devices which you can choose from. Other than Windows 8 tablet devices, Android iOS based devices are also available. We take a look at the various tablet PCs which has crossed our sight.
It seems that convertible Windows 8 tablet PCs are more popular at IT SHOW 2013. The well known YOGA convertible tablet PC flips 360degrees to make it into a effective tablet PC. As it has a large display as an ultrabook, this 13 inch tablet PC is a great all rounder. It starts at $1699, probably at a friendlier price for a convertible tablet as compared to alternatives from Dell and ASUS.
ACER
The Acer Iconia W5 (Right in picture above) is a Intel Atom based tablet PC. This means that standard Windows Applications can still be installed on this machine. It comes cheap at $849 for a WI-FI version and $999 for a 3G version. It can uniquely be placed in 2 modes in its dock, either in Type mode or View for different purposes.
The Iconia W700 Folio on the other than is a 11.6″ Full HD Display. Instead of a conventional hard drive, this tablet is included with a huge 128GB SSD and 4GB RAM. Talk about the best features you can get on a tablet device. W700 Folio only costs $1198.
ASUS
ASUS has got a full lineup of tablet devices on display at IT SHOW 2013.
These tablets includes both Android and Windows 8 based operating systems.
ASUS MeMo Pad is budget oriented tablet PC. It’s powered by the latest Android Jelly Bean Operating System and only costs $199, a price unmatched by any other tablet pcs at IT SHOW 2013.
The Nexus 7 on the other hand, is a higher end tablet manufactured by ASUS. As it is a Google Android Open Source Project device, this device will be the firsts to get updates directly from Google. It comes in either WI-FI or 3G editions and at 16GB or 32GB capacities starting from $349 to $469.
ASUS VivoTab Smart LTE version debuts at IT SHOW 2013. It is an atom based Windows 8 PC with an interesting smart cover which also acts as a stand at the same time. It comes with a bluetooth keyboard although not shown in this picture. The Bluetooth keyboard is optional and can be purchased separately. VivoTab Smart can be purchased at $699(Wi-Fi) or $899(LTE).
ASUS TAICHI convertible tablet is the one and only dual display Windows 8 tablet PC. It has a display mounted on both sides of the screen and fits the needs of having both a tablet and a laptop computer at the same time. However, not everyone can afford TAICHI as it is the top-of-the-line tablet product from ASUS. The Intel Core i7 based tablet PC/ultrabook with a Full-HD display can burn a hole in your pocket at $2698.
DELL
Dell has got a neat convertible PC that really makes a lot of sense. The Dell XPS12 has a flappable display that converts it into a tablet pc when in need. It is also a ultrabook by default. Of course, the display is also touch enabled. This high end tablet convertible comes with a Core i7 processor and costs $2199.
LENOVO

MSI has got 2 Android based tablet PCs on sale at their booth.
The MSI Enjoy 71 is a 7″ tablet PC running on Android ICS. The display has the same resolution as the ASUS MeMo Pad at 1024 x 600 and runs on a ARM Cortex A9 processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB built in flash storage space. MicroSD card is also supported. It comes with a OTG cable within the box so that you can connect the tablet easily to your external devices such as Thumb Drives or Mouse. It is priced competitively at $249
MSI Enjoy Plus is a budget 10 inch Android tablet PC. It costs $269 which is a extremely affordable price tag for its size. However, our first experience on it was not a extremely good one because of its low pixel density. It’s a 1024 x 768 display on a 10″ size and a relatively low pixel density. Images won’t be as clear. However, specifications are identical to the Enjoy 71, and MSI will be giving away a free protective cover for every purchase of this tablet.
SAMSUNG
Galaxy Note 10.1 is a great 10.1″ display and iPad alternative. At IT SHOW 2013, there’s a $100 price reduction to both LTE and Wi-Fi models. They are priced at $898 and $698 respectively. The LTE version will also come with a free Samsung Bluetooth Headset, Book Cover and a 16GB Class 10 MicroSD Card as an added bundle to the purchase from the trade show. The Wi-Fi Version comes with the 16GB Class 10 SD Card, Book Cover and a Desktop Dock.
The Galaxy Tab 2 is a popular Android 7 inch tablet. The 3G version will cost $398 and Wi-Fi version costs $248. Both purchase will also get you a 16GB MicroSD Card with an additional Bluetooth Headset for the 3G version or a Book Cover for the Wi-Fi version.
The Samsung ATIV Smart PC XE500 is a Atom based Windows 8 tablet which comes in Frosted White and Mystic Blue colours. They have 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal flash storage. These tablet computers only weighs a 760grams. It’s highly portable. In case you didn’t know, these are convertible tablets and the screen can be taken off from the keyboard dock. Prices starts at $1149 for Wi-Fi edition and $1299 for the 3.5G version.
TOSHIBA
Toshiba has a nice slider style convertible tablet PC for sale. The Toshiba U920T is a Intel Core i5 based convertible tablet backed with 4GB of RAM and 128GB SSD.
This machine has a nice backlit keyboard and full click touchpad, similar to those found on Apple Computers.
The tablet can be taken this way to capture photographs, which is in semi tablet mode. The U920T is a great device which transforms quickly from a tablet to a laptop computer and vice-versa. It is priced at $1999.
