Searching for a New Cooling Solution
After more than 13 years with our old Mitsubishi Electric air conditioner, it was finally time for an upgrade. The unit had served our family well, but years of neglect caught up with it – cooling performance dropped, water began leaking, and the electricity bills climbed.
Like many households, we tried to DIY clean the aircon to save on servicing costs. It was time-consuming and, as it turned out, counterproductive – improper cleaning warped part of the FCU, making things worse.
So began my search for a new system.
I shortlisted Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, and the newer player, PRISM+.
Why I Chose PRISM+
While Mitsubishi Electric and Daikin are household names with proven reliability, their high initial cost of ownership made me think twice. PRISM+, on the other hand, offered a compelling balance between value and technology – boasting high specifications, smart connectivity, and energy efficiency at a fraction of the price.
If we put aside brand prestige, PRISM+ stood out for all the right reasons.
What truly sealed the deal, though, was the ability to use the Climate Voucher to offset part of the purchase cost. That made the decision even easier.
After some research and comparison, I decided on the PRISM+ Neo System 3 configuration: Indoor units: 12K / 12K / 12K, Outdoor unit: 36K
The PRISM+ website deserves a mention – it helps users select compatible indoor and outdoor units automatically, simplifying what’s usually a technical process.
The Pre-Installation Experience

Soon after ordering, PRISM+ arranged for a home consultation / site visit.
A consultant came over to assess our layout, explain trunking and piping options, and ensure the setup met our needs. He also mentioned we’d need extra mounting brackets for the outdoor unit — something I appreciated being informed about before installation day.
A detailed post-consultation report was sent to my email shortly after, along with a link for online payment through the PRISM+ website. The entire process felt transparent and secure — no cash dealings, no uncertainty, and no fear of paying to the wrong person. The report even included a video taken by the consultant, explaining what should be done on installation day!
This online-only payment process gives peace of mind — something I wish more service providers adopted.
Scheduling installation was equally convenient, with SMS reminders confirming the appointment date.
Installation Day: Smooth but Not Perfect
Installation took almost a full day. The team arrived on time, worked efficiently, and brought all the necessary tools. There were, however, both highs and lows worth mentioning.
What Went Well

-
High-quality materials: The insulation on the pipes and cables was thick and durable — noticeably better than our old system.
-
Prepared and safety-conscious: The team handled equipment carefully. However, they could be better with ensuring good housekeeping on-site.
-
Well-equipped: Every tool they needed was on hand, no cutting corners.
What Could Be Better
-
The hole drilled through our wall (for routing piping between rooms) was larger than necessary, and the patch-up work could have been neater.
-
One installer accidentally dropped a tool, leaving a small dent on a floor tile.
Overall, workmanship was okay, but I’d love to see PRISM+ invest a little more in installer training and finishing quality.

Cooling Performance: Cold, Even at 26°C
Once the system was up and running, it impressed us immediately.
At our usual setting of 26°C, the rooms cooled quickly and evenly. My family noticed the difference right away — no more uneven airflow or noisy compressors. The air felt fresh, the temperature stable, and sleep finally comfortable again in Singapore’s humid nights.
Smart Features That Actually Feel Smart
This is where PRISM+ shines.
Each indoor unit connects to Wi-Fi, allowing full remote control through the PRISM+ Connect app. From anywhere, I can power on, adjust temperatures, or set timers — all from my phone.
There’s also an anti-mold feature that regulates humidity automatically, helping prevent the musty smell many aircons develop over time.
And the 3D Airflow feature, with both horizontal and vertical swing control, ensures cool air reaches every corner of the room.
These small touches make PRISM+ feel like an appliance designed for the smart home era — not just a rebranded unit with Wi-Fi tacked on.
5-Step Air Purification System
PRISM+ has integrated a comprehensive 5-step air purification and self-cleaning process that goes beyond just filtering dust:
-
Initial Filtration – Blocks large airborne particles.
-
4-in-1 Filter – Removes 99.97% of dust, allergens, and bacteria.
-
Colasma Technology – Cold plasma neutralises viruses and eliminates odours.
-
Self-Cleaning Evaporator – Condenses, freezes, sterilises, and defrosts to remove dirt.
-
Easy-Clean Design – The clasped air outlet can be quickly removed for cleaning.
As someone who used to DIY clean aircons, I can say this design saves hours of hassle and probably prevents a lot of long-term damage.
One small gripe: even at its lowest fan speed, the 12K indoor unit’s blower is noticeably audible. It’s not intrusive, but quieter operation would make it perfect.
One Month Later: Real Energy Savings

Perhaps the most satisfying surprise came a month later — our electricity bill dropped significantly.
The inverter system’s efficiency was clearly working, and it reinforced that the switch was not only more comfortable but also more economical.
We were so satisfied that we signed up for PRISM+’s quarterly servicing package, which conveniently extends the warranty to 10 years. It’s affordable, and it completely removes the stress of maintenance — we can now just let PRISM+ handle it.
Final Thoughts
The PRISM+ Neo Smart Air Conditioner exceeded my expectations in almost every way.
It’s cold, efficient, smart, and affordable — a rare combination. The installation process was transparent, the consultation was professional, and the post-sales support feels well-structured.
While there’s still room for improvement in workmanship, the overall experience shows PRISM+ is ready to challenge the traditional aircon giants.
If you’re shopping for a new aircon in Singapore and want something modern, energy-saving, and smart-home-ready, the PRISM+ Neo is absolutely worth a look.
