BenQ Group has become the first Taiwanese enterprise to receive ISO 20121:2024 certification, marking a significant milestone in sustainable event management.
The announcement was made during COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2025, where the company also became the only global exhibitor to earn this certification at the event for three consecutive years.
The certification highlights BenQ’s commitment to sustainability, with the group achieving all 22 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) targets, as these include cutting carbon emissions by 30% compared to 2024 despite doubling the booth size, implementing 100% circular materials, and prioritizing digital and local sourcing strategies.
BenQ’s exhibition, themed “Together, Make the World Better,” emphasized lifecycle thinking and material reuse. Post-event, booth components were returned to design partner KY-POST for repurposing at the upcoming SDG Asia Expo, reinforcing the group’s circular economy strategy.
Recently, ISO 20121:2024 introduces updated priorities such as climate action, human rights, DEI, and digital responsibility and to follow suit, BenQ aligned its showcase accordingly, featuring AI applications in fraud prevention, smart healthcare, and sustainability education, including campus seminars and public livestreams.
General Manager Joe Huang noted that the company brought together 23 subsidiaries under a shared vision to drive ESG innovation. The initiative also engaged 30 partners, including technology firms and sustainability-focused collaborators like CircuPlus, KY-POST, and Unity Sustainability Services.
The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) validated BenQ’s carbon reduction achievements, while the Taipei Computer Association provided a platform for the group to share its design and operational strategies.
