Nothing's Headphone (1) Pro is now available in Singapore, bringing a three-driver acoustic system, adaptive active noise cancellation and a claimed maximum of 68 hours of playback to the company's over-ear range. The headphones are priced at S$549.

The Pro model goes beyond a routine tuning update. Nothing has divided the frequency range among three different transducers: a 40mm dynamic driver for bass, a 13 × 8mm precision dynamic driver for vocals and a solid-state xMEMS driver for treble. The company says this arrangement is intended to give each part of the spectrum a more specialised driver rather than asking a single unit to reproduce everything.

Three drivers and Metropolis Studios tuning

The main bass driver uses a PET dome with a metal-ceramic coating and a dual-magnetic system. Nothing claims 15% more bass impact and 26% greater sensitivity than the original Headphone (1), though those comparative figures come from its own laboratory tests. The midrange driver uses a PEN diaphragm, while the xMEMS tweeter uses silicon for faster transient response.

Headphone (1) Pro supports Hi-Res Audio over wired and wireless connections. USB-C playback reaches up to 24-bit/192kHz, while the 3.5mm input supports up to 24-bit/96kHz. Wireless codec support covers AAC, SBC and LDAC for music, with LC3 used for broadcast audio.

Nothing also worked with London's Metropolis Studios on the sound profiles. A dedicated physical switch moves between the user's regular EQ and a Flat EQ intended to reduce added colouration. The Nothing X app adds an advanced equaliser, a personalised hearing profile and five Metropolis-tuned presets for Neo-Jazz, Rock, UK Rap and Grime, Electronica and Bass. Dynamic Spatial Audio with head tracking is available for a wider virtual soundstage.

Adaptive ANC uses ten microphones

The noise-control system uses ten microphones in total, with three feed-forward and two feedback microphones on each side. Nothing rates the maximum cancellation depth at up to 46dB and adds an 8mm silicone baffle wall plus dual-layer cushions to improve the acoustic seal.

Adaptive ANC can change its response according to ambient noise and the fit of the ear cups, while a transparency mode passes outside sound through. These are manufacturer claims rather than independent test results; actual isolation and battery performance will depend on fit, environment, volume, codec and enabled features.

Up to 68 hours, depending on codec and ANC

The built-in 1,060mAh battery is rated for up to 68 hours of AAC playback with ANC disabled, based on Nothing's testing at 50% volume. Switching ANC on reduces the AAC figure to 30 hours. With LDAC, the quoted figures are 53 hours without ANC and 28 hours with it.

A five-minute charge is said to provide up to four hours of playback with ANC off, or two hours with ANC on. A full wired charge takes about two hours under the company's test conditions.

Physical controls, Bluetooth 6.1 and Auracast

Nothing retains tactile controls rather than relying entirely on touch surfaces. A roller manages volume, playback and noise-control modes, while a paddle skips tracks, seeks within audio and handles calls. A programmable button can call the phone's assistant and access other functions, and the new EQ switch toggles Flat EQ.

Bluetooth 6.1 supports dual-device connections, auto-wear detection, Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair. The headphones work with Android 8.0 or newer and iOS 13 or newer. Auracast broadcast audio support allows compatible sources to share audio with multiple listening devices.

Metal, glass and a new travel case

The 327g headphones combine single-block machined aluminium with titanium-alloy arms that Nothing says are 45% lighter than those on Headphone (1). Transparent design cues continue through a 9H Panda Glass window, while the headband is 10% wider and uses 12% thicker padding than the earlier model. The dual-layer ear cushions are removable and are claimed to be 50% softer.

An IP52 rating provides limited protection against dust and vertically dripping water under specified laboratory conditions. Nothing explicitly notes that the headphones are not waterproof and that the rating is not intended to cover rain, splashes, immersion or excessive sweat. The package includes a hard-shell case with a TPU lining and attachment loops, a 3.5mm cable and a USB-C cable.
