Xsolla has unveiled the Buy Button for Mobile Games, a new direct-to-consumer payment tool designed to help mobile developers bypass traditional platform fees and retain more revenue.
The announcement follows a pivotal U.S. court decision on April 30, 2025, which bars Apple from restricting external payment links or charging commissions on third-party storefronts for U.S. users.
The Buy Button allows developers to embed in-game links that lead players to a streamlined browser-based checkout, powered by Xsolla Web Shop and Xsolla Pay Station. It supports purchases of virtual goods, currencies, and bundles — all without incurring the up to 30% fee typically charged by mobile platforms.
This frictionless checkout experience is optimized for mobile, with pre-authenticated, autofill-enabled flows that reduce the number of taps required for a purchase. Developers can deploy links quickly via the Xsolla Publisher platform using pre-built templates, eliminating the need for custom coding.
Beyond payments, the solution includes support for catalog synchronization, loyalty and rewards programs, personalized offers, parental controls, and LiveOps integration. These tools enable developers to manage player engagement and in-game promotions across both app and web environments.
Key benefits highlighted by Xsolla include:
- Zero platform commission, aside from payment processing costs
- Legal support for external payment links under the April 2025 U.S. court ruling
- Seamless checkout designed for native in-game feel
- Full tax and compliance management by Xsolla as the Merchant of Record
- Monetization extension across Discord, Telegram, and other community platforms
The Buy Button is now available via Xsolla’s Web Shop, offering mobile developers a new route to monetize their games more directly, build deeper player relationships, and operate with fewer platform constraints.
