London-based tech company Nothing has announced a strategic partnership with British audio pioneer KEF, aiming to enhance the audio quality of its smartphones while maintaining its hallmark design-focused user experience.
Founded in 1961 by former BBC engineer Raymond Cooke, KEF has built a global reputation for high-fidelity loudspeakers and premium audio innovation. By collaborating with KEF, Nothing intends to leverage this six-decade legacy to optimize sound performance in future devices, without compromising the brand’s minimalist aesthetic and streamlined user interface.
Nothing hinted that KEF’s involvement would help refine the audio side of upcoming products, so perhaps we could see some KEF tech in Nothing’s upcoming smartphone or TWS offerings. If pricing remains competitive, the partnership could put Nothing more favorably in the mid-to-premium segment, and also through a unique approach where most brands focus on “camera collaboration” while they aim for better audio.
