MSI is preparing a new addition to its MPOWER lineup, this time tailored for AMD’s AM5 socket and designed to deliver impressive overclocking performance for Ryzen CPUs and DDR5 memory.
Following a long hiatus since the Z790 MPOWER, MSI is bringing back the MPOWER series—this time in micro-ATX (mATX) form. This marks the first MPOWER board built specifically for AMD platforms, and it’s shaping up to be a compelling option for enthusiasts looking for solid overclocking capabilities at a competitive price point.
According to early details, the upcoming motherboard is expected to utilize the B850E chipset and features a refreshed black-and-yellow aesthetic reminiscent of the original MPOWER and XPOWER designs—moving away from the brown PCB and silver accents seen on the Z790 MPOWER.
The board includes two DDR5 DIMM slots, supporting up to 128 GB of RAM. Nearby, an M.2 slot is positioned next to the memory slots, while a large heatsink spans the PCH and additional M.2 slots beneath it. The layout also includes multiple fan headers and a pair of SATA III ports.
With its focus on affordability and performance, the new MSI MPOWER AM5 motherboard is expected to offer advanced overclocking features, rivaling some of the more premium AM5 offerings, particularly in memory tuning. Overclockers and AMD builders can look forward to a well-rounded, next-gen option once it hits the market. Stay tuned for further updates.
