The annual “Team Snake” festive season Razercon 2024 wrapped up last week so let us bring you a quick update on what’s been announced.
First, we have the Razer Freyja which can be the most elaborate gaming gear that you can own. As the world’s 1st HD Haptic gaming cushion, it can bring you absolute immersion to your favorite titles by injecting dynamic tactile feedback such as booming explosions in Battlefield and CoD.
Thanks to its 6 advanced haptic motor actuators, players can perceive the direction, distance, and intensity of in-game actions through multi-directional haptics. Not only for games, supported movies and even music can also be enhanced through Freyja for a completely different experience than usual.
It is also smart in the sense that it can be connected and become part of your setup through Razer HyperSpeed Wireless and Bluetooth, allowing seamless interaction across PC and Android devices via the Razer Nexus app. The quick-release connection feature ensures neat cable management and prevents snags, while the adjustable strap secures a snug fit for most gaming or office chairs. Gamers can fine-tune their haptic feedback with Razer Synapse 4, adjusting intensity levels or choosing from immersive haptic presets.
Next, the return of a classic in the Razer Kraken V4 Pro. Through this model securing the premium slot for the family alongside the Kraken V4 and Kraken V4 X, the Pro comes with Sensa HD Haptics technology to enhance supported titles like Hogwarts Legacy, Stalker 2, Final Fantasy XVI, and the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake by tackling specific hearing sense for maximum awareness.
The new OLED Control Hub offers extensive customization, allowing users to view critical PC metrics, manage audio sources, and adjust settings instantly. Inspired by high-end audio gear, it serves as a centerpiece for total control over the gaming audio experience, right at the player’s fingertips.
Powered by Razer’s patented TriForce Bio-Cellulose 40 mm Drivers and THX Spatial Audio, the Kraken V4 Pro delivers a refined, high-quality sound with realistic positional audio while the Razer HyperClear Super Wideband Mic is here to support it with a wider frequency range to deliver clear, professional-level voice quality.
This is also one of the very first gaming headsets to achieve the “number 4” in connectivity options through Razer HyperSpeed Wireless, Bluetooth, USB, and 3.5 mm to help you stay connected at all times. While quick toggles exist for easy host switching, there’s a new feature that allows you to mix both 2.4GHz and Bluetooth sources although I would perceive this as a rather niche function.
Gaming laptops are prone to overheating even from the smallest issues and obstacles but why not solve it with the new Razer Laptop Cooling Pad designed for 14” to 18” laptops. Equipped with smart fan control, an airtight pressure chamber, and three magnetic frames to fit a variety of laptops, this cooling pad is the perfect tool for users seeking to enhance performance and optimize thermal management.
The Smart Cooling feature automatically adjusts fan speed based on the temperature of critical components using the high-velocity 140 mm fan, enabling an up to 18% temperature drop for CPU and GPU components. The broad compatibility gives a snug fit for both Windows and fanless laptops ranging from 14” to 18”.
Additional features include a removable multi-function button for fan speed control and Razer Chroma RGB lighting along the front. Using Razer Synapse, users can customize or select preset fan curves for efficient cooling. A dust filter is also included to minimize the introduction of foreign particles, ensuring long-term use as the fan cools the system over time.
Now for the software department. First up, Intel Thunderbolt Share is now live for Razer Blade 18 2024 models. Users can easily get 2 supported Razer laptops and share peripherals, transfer files, control another machine, and more, through a single Thunderbolt cable using the power of Thunderbolt 5.
The Razer ecosystem hub Razer Synapse 4 is now in the latest version providing more levels of customization, performance, and ease of use by cutting resource consumption by up to 30% while making processes from installing drivers to fiddling with macros even faster thanks to multi-threaded optimization.
To double on the true precision-level adjustments, supported Razer mice can now adjust DPI by single digits as well as achieve identical sensitivity through Sensitivity Matcher Calibration in case you’re switching from a different model. Asymmetric cut-off allows the adjustment of mice’s lift-off and landing distances, among others. For keyboards, the Razer Snap Tap, Rapid Trigger, and whatnot can also be toggled in Synapse 4.
