NVIDIA has announced they are opening the gates for RTX Remix as the Omniverse-based modding platform is now in the public beta phase.
With numerous classic games originally powered by DX8 and DX9 receiving a “modern refresh” through the implementation of path tracing for enhanced visual fidelity, alongside features like DLSS and Reflex, the experience of reliving nostalgia is undoubtedly different, yet it provides a breath of fresh air, especially when official remakes are absent.
In simple terms, RTX Remix functions by capturing game scenes within the in-game engine, reconstructing lights remastering assets based on existing ones, and then seamlessly integrating the new elements back into the game during playback.
