25 February 2021, SINGAPORE – realme, the world’s fastest-growing smartphone brand, has announced its “Dual-platform Dual-flagship” strategy at MWC Shanghai 2021, along with a preview of the realme GT performance flagship.
The strategy will see realme comprehensively lay out its mid-to-high-end product line to bring more powerful leap-forward technology and trendsetting design to their users. This is timely as realme speeds on with its rapid growth in 2020, achieving a milestone of 70 million smartphone users worldwide in just the first two months of 2021.
Leaping into the high-end market with Dual-flagship
According to Counterpoint, realme’s global smartphone shipments in 2020 accumulated more than 42.4 million units with a 65% growth rate – the only smartphone brand in the world to grow by more than 50%.
Looking ahead in 2021, realme will take to mid-to-high-end products as a critical target for brand development with the “Dual-platform Dual-flagship” strategy; an undertaking that embodies the brand spirit of “Dare to Leap”.
In the mid-to-high-end segment, realme will adopt both Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series and MediaTek Dimensity series flagship 5G platform, and is set to release two flagship series focusing on premium performance and imaging capabilities respectively.
Flagship performance that is born for speed
As part of the “Dual-platform Dual-flagship” strategy, a next generation performance flagship, the realme GT series will headline realme’s smartphone portfolio in the year to come.
The realme GT series will be geared with Snapdragon 888, to bring the power of the leap-forward high performance users of the mid-to-high-end segment.
Furthermore, the realme GT is innovatively equipped with the new Stainless Steel VC Cooling System to optimise the power of the Snapdragon 888. The new cooling system improves on heat dissipation performance by applying stainless steel in the cooling system to perfect the heat dissipation structure.
The realme GT is also unique and extraordinary in design. First of its kind, the Dual-tone Vegan Leather Design mismatches two different kinds of material in two separate colours to achieve a textural and visual sense of speed akin to its powerful performance.
To achieve this, realme pioneered a one-piece moulding process for the back cover and inner frame that allows the Vegan Leather to fit more tightly with the black glossy “race track”. The 2nd generation of Vegan Leather on the GT series will see upgrades such as softer and delicate textures, and better colour presentation.
